Review: The Faerie Guardian by Creepy Hallow

Title: The Faerie Guardian
Author: Rachel Morgan
Series: Creepy Hallow series book 1
Genre: Young Adult, Fantasy (Faeries)

A faerie girl.
A human boy.
A magical world.
A dangerous plot.

Protecting humans from dangerous magical creatures is all in a day’s work for a faerie training to be a guardian. Seventeen-year-old Violet Fairdale knows this better than anyone—she’s about to become the best guardian the Guild has seen in years. That is, until a cute human boy who can somehow see through her faerie glamour follows her into the fae realm. Now she’s broken Guild Law, a crime that could lead to her expulsion.

The last thing Vi wants to do is spend any more time with the boy who got her into this mess, but the Guild requires that she return Nate to his home and make him forget everything he’s discovered of the fae realm. Easy, right? Not when you factor in evil faeries, long-lost family members, and inconvenient feelings of the romantic kind. Vi is about to find herself tangled up in a dangerous plot—and it’ll take all her training to get out of it alive.

Overall feelings towards this book is "Fine". I didn't expect the book to be this short. I managed to finish it within a few hours. I was expecting more adventures around the faerie world. Also, it was a bit rushed, like it's not even a series but a single book only. You could say that I was a bit disappointed with what was happening but it was bearable. My real problem is the first half but the second half was kind of nice and exciting.

The real problem here is where are the faeries? I don't mean that it's a faerie book without any faeries but I don't really see that much of a difference between a human and a faerie. Most faerie books that I read are bombarding you with this whole new magical world and whole new unique and different species but here I didn't see the effort of giving us a magical world, only a description here and there. As for the love story, the relationship with Nate was too fast for my taste. I really think that Nate is somehow into the relationship and not just some plot. For the characters, I still haven't found one that is that lovable but the mystery behind the characters are nice and will keep you motivated.

The book ain't that bad. A few bumpy roads at the start but it smoothen out by the end. You could say that it's a cliff hanger because somehow they didn't really resolve anything.

PS: Read the series because the next 2 books are just wicked awesome!!!

Rating: 3/5
