Life is back to normal for Arcadia Bell, the Moonchild magician. Her relationship with his boyfriend, Lon is going great, as well, as with his son, Jupe. She doesn't have to be worried about another organization looking for her (except for the FBI). She is still working in her bar with her best friend. She doesn't need to worry about her new powers. However, peace doesn't seem to be a part of Cady. Children are missing without any trace other than their blood, just like the one that happened 30 years ago. Now, the Hellfire, a club, children are the targets. Cady and Lon were asked to investigate the abduction and stop the culprit. They both have no choice because Jupe seems to be one of the potential targets. They went through a dead body finding junkie, killer illusion bugs from a body and cracking golf course to find some clues on the case. However, it seems that this is not just about the Snacher. Someone is digging up Cady's past, again, and she will do everything to keep it hidden.
This book is quite great. I wasn't able to put the book down. A bravo for the great twist again! This author just writes the unexpected. The story is well thought of. Not the kind where in they just write what they feel like without thinking if it really fits. This is somehow like the first book, more on investigating. I really pity Cady for what Dare is doing to her but it makes a great opening for the next book. YES! Another cliff hanging book!
It's really nice that Cady has a new family now, not in the marriage sense. They are all so sweet together. The relationship is staying strong. I was actually expecting something that will test their relationship by now (which is not an approach I really appreciate but quite common for books) but not yet folks. I was also expecting a rival for Cady's attention but it seems that the author is still not making a new character for that role. There is the dead body finding junkie but he is a drug addict. Though, he looks cute. Also, it's quite interesting that Jupe's knack is finally out. It's really cool. ^.^
However, the bad side again is that Cady still isn't showing that much power. She refuses to use her Moonchild abilities.
Still a great book nonetheless! I just can't wait to read the next book!
